Week 1
We have wanted Aunty to visit for a long time. We just knew she would love seeing the DC area and that we would love being with her. She decided to come for a month!! Here are pics from her first week. We are having a blast!!
The airport had a beautiful stained glass crab exhibit. Perfect to welcome Aunty to Maryland. And she matched the crab too.
When we arrived Lillie gave her a tour of our home and we fed her after a long day of travel. We were so happy to have Aunty here!!
The very next day we arranged for a boat ride on the Chesapeake Bay in Southern Maryland, where we live.
The rest of the week we went into DC. We went to some museums and saw the Washington monument and the Capitol. We enjoyed cooking meals together and eating out. On the weekend we went to an outside craft fair at Eastern Market and did more sightseeing. Aunty baked us some banana bread and we loved it. We are thoroughly enjoying ourselves!!

We also took Aunty to see the headquarters of the AFL-CIO. Her father, my grandfather, worked for the chapter in Hawaii. He retired from there in the 80s.

Thank you so much for sharing your first week. Alberta is smiling from ear to ear and I know she is enjoying seeing everything in the big city. And eating out, especially Maryland Blue Crabs. I know she is so happy with Ohana. Be sure and get her to hula for you too. Much Aloha.
