Week 2:
It began with a festive July 4th dinner. We didn’t make it out to the National Mall because the traffic and crowds would have made it not very pleasant. But we did okay with our own patriotic music and a festive dinner of hot dogs, baked beans and corn on the cob!
Monday we went back into DC to see the Museum of American History. It was fun to see iconic American memorabilia and be reminded of how great it is to live in this country.
Lillie brought a friend with her it was nice to meet her. Aunty went on a virtual ride with them she was dizzy by the time it ended!
The music display in the museum had a saxophone it reminded Aunty of grandpa and his saxophone playing days!!
And at the end of the day we rode the paddle boats at the tidal basin. It was a lot of fun to be out on the open waters!!Aunty loved the Natural history museum with all the animals!
We ate at a fondue place where you cook everything fondue style at your table. Aunty had never done that before.
We also enjoyed a sunset concert on the Potomac river. She loved eating picnic style and listening to the Air Force jazz band!
And the highlight of the week was bowling. She had not been in a while. But she ended up wining and having the best score of all of us.
