April brought our family to Hawaii. We were sad to say goodbye to my brother Mark, but felt much comfort being with family. Here are some of the highlights from our trip

What a great family!

So our Easter Egg Hunt started yesterday (2 days before Easter) at the Bunnyland Festival (read the post after this). The hunt consisted of young adults scattering (and when I say scattering, I mean throwing) eggs around a family room size area of grass. It wasn't quite a "hunt", but Lillie didn't care. She screamed in excitement and "searched" for those eggs.

Don't know if you can see or tell, but look at the wisps of hair on the forehead. Can you tell?? Plastered with sweat!!! This is after running around, making the egg hunt with about 15-20 other kids, a serious competition!! It was pretty funny to watch. All in all, look at her basket, Lillie got quite a bundle!! When she was done, we told Lillie to just dump out her eggs on the grass, and she was given a goody basket (which she LOVED!).

Last night, we decided to decorate our eggs (not before we had CONSTANT reminding from Lillie to do so!). Here are some of Lillie's "masterpieces"!

There are her polka dot egg on the left and her rainbow egg on the right. Most of the eggs have the "drippy" effect because her parents decided, after she painted her design, to dye the whole egg in a bowl. Then on top of that, after refrigerating it the night before, we took it out to do an egg hunt, and the eggs started condensating...and "dripping". We'll make sure to take notes for next year!

This was Lillie's face. Again, condensating this morning didn't help the design! If you look carefully, you can see the blue eyes, green nose, and red mouth.

The egg on the right was a speckling feature of the Paas dye kit. Paas has come a long way with their kits...sort of. Lillie had fun!

Here's Mommy and Daddy's eggs. I did the speckling deal, but it is a bit prettier in person. It actually has purple, yellow, and green speckles, then dipped in yellow die. It came out looking a bit flourescent. Keola used the "Magic Message" crayon and kept it simple with Lillie's name.

Then, before the first session of conference, we headed outside for some egg hunts.

Lillie decided to use the basket Nana just sent her for the big egg hunt.

So much fun for Easter!

Yesterday, we went on an adventure!

First day of school?? No just a visit to Butler's Orchard - Bunnyland!!

Lillie tried to be the train conductor, but didn't quite make it to the front. As you can see, lots of people, but it didn't feel crowded at all, since it was on a fairly big orchard. (Notice Keola on the side - yes, working on his blackberry)

Lillie and Daddy decided to try ou the Wildcat Run. Lillie was pretty excited!

Can't take a ride to the country, without seeing a few animals. First a little pet of the sheep.

Then, the softest, cutest little bunny. Can't have Easter without a bunny.

A few games. Here's a woofle ball throw.

A Rubber Ducky relay. This was so interesting. They had these water pumps set up with long silver trays to hold the rubber ducky. Then the kids had to pump the water into the trays to get the ducks moving. Hard, but fun.

At the entrance of the festival, there were all these bunnies lined up. All the kids, and some of the adults, thought they were chocolate bunnies. They really did look real.

Spring is finally making an appearance, after a LONG winter! So, of course, the first warm, dry day, Lillie and I (and our visitors) head to the park!!

A few weeks ago, we had some friends come to stay with us. "Elder" Barrett, as know him, served his mission in DC years ago. He came to visit us before, but this time, he brought his family with him.
