Happy Easter

Lillie received an Easter package today. As soon as I brought the box in the house, Lillie squealed, yelled "Nana", and couldn't wait to open the surprise.

Easter is almost here and we are very excited! The decorations are up in the house and we are looking forward to this Easter weekend with some friends. Lillie "helped" put up some of the eggs and decorations.

Spring is here!!!...temporarily, at least. Today, the temperature was 82 DEGREES!! Can you believe it!! It went from cool, to all of a sudden pretty warm. Lillie and I decided to take a little walk and look around our backyard.

Flowers are starting to bloom, buds are peeking out of trees, and Lillie is growing by the minute.

The Ringling Brothers Circus is in town! Every year when the circus comes to town, they have some of the animals take a walk right through the city. Lucky for us, they walk right by one of the parks I take Lillie to. We stood on the sidewalk while the animals walked right past us.

The elephants were NOT Lillie's favorite, unfortunately. As soon as she saw their massive bodies turn the corner, she started backing up. Oh well, it was worth a try.

Here are some of the half horse, half zebra animals. I forget the name of them.

Lillie DID love the horses. She couldn't stop staring.

Today, Lillie and I took a 30 min. drive to visit a "new" friend for Lillie. Sydney, who is 3 years old, and her family, are in the stake and friends of ours. They live a little ways away, so we have never really had a playdate with them. Sydney's mom, Paula, and I finally decided to plan something. The two girls had a great time playing with eachother. Of course, the highlight was finding a new park with great play equipment. You'll have to watch the video below to see Lillie in action.

A New Friend

Who can resist a 75 degree day at the park. When we visited our new friends today, we went to a new park. Lillie is branching out with the things she decides to play on.

Lillie, on the Move!

Here is some fun video of Lillie at the park, practicing her balancing and hopping, and let's not forget her ABC's and 1,2,3's.

This past Tuesday we had a change in weather. We thought for sure Spring was here! (the morning still started out cool, so the girls are in long sleeve shirts, but it did warm up). So, Lillie and I met some friends from church, at Garfield Park to enjoy the sunshine.

Lillie just fell in love with the swings. She's a bit traumatized by the slide from the birthday party a couple weeks ago, but with the twins help, she tried it out a couple of times.

Lillie and I decided to just hang out at home today. She just got a new summer dress from someone at church, so we threw it on with her slippers from Nana. Unfortunately, the slippers are pretty much for show, because Lillie's heels go over just a tad.

Of course, when I put the slippers on, even it was a little small, Lillie refused to take them off.

Lillie's newest trick...balancing on one foot!!

First Birthday Party

Lillie went to her first birthday party on Girl's Day. Emily just turned 2 years old. She was also adopted from China and her parents were in the travel group that we were supposed to be in. It was so funny because the entire group of kids were all from China and all their parents were haole. It was a bit chaotic and a bit over the top for us, but Lillie had a great time.

girls day

Gifts from the Miyahana's. Nana also sent a box, but we didn't have time to get the camera before Lillie wanted to see her present!! Thank you everyone for the Girl's Day gifts!!

A little more Lillie

A little dancing, a little sliding, and a BIG wish for Nana!!

After being inside for so long because of snow and sicknesses, Lillie and I decided to go to the park. Lillie headed straight for the slide. I was pretty shocked, since she's been a bit hesitant in the past. She kept climbing the steps, sliding down, and back up the stairs again.

Lillie found this little circle apparatus very interesting. Once she got the hang of walking through it, she thought it was pretty fun.

Every once in a while, we have police officers roam the city on horseback. Not quite sure why, but Lillie didn't quite care. We saw them riding around the park, and then to our surprise, they rode right up to the playground area. I knew Lillie would love a close up view. She told the officers hi then gave the horse a little pet on the neck. She just loved seeing horses close up.
