First day of middle school, well actually the second day

Our baby girl started middle school today.  We couldn't be more proud of her.  She has all honors classes, is in orchestra and is well behaved.  She is starting to catch the bus this year too.  This is the second day of school since we forgot to take a picture on the first day.

Her awesome schedule...miss smarty!!

This is a pic of all the middle school kids in the neighborhood.

The young women in the stake

They presented me with a pledge to read scriptures and pray everyday.  We decided to hang it in our entry way.  It is pretty cool!

Washington DC North Mission

We have always had good relationships with the mission president here in the area.  Such is the case with President and Sister Cooke.  They will be ending their mission here in a couple of weeks.  We honored them with a little dinner and a small token of appreciation from our stake.  We will miss them very much.  They have been so wonderful to us and our stake.

Lillie graduates from Calvert Elementary School

She was in a recorder ensemble that played for the processional.

She wona presidential award for maintaining good grades and scoring well on her standardized tests.

On June, 9, 2016, our Lillie graduated from elementary school.  She was awarded the Presidential Award for Educational Excellence.  We were so proud of her.  She got all A's her entire time at Calvert Elementary, except for on B in art.   She was always well behaved, did her homework, never gave her parents any heartache.   She was in chorus and orchestra, and excelled at PE too.  She loved playing in PE.  She also really loved math and excelled in it.  We are so lucky to have been blessed with a sweet girl who loves school and is good at it.  We just cant believe she is going to middle school already.

Lillie is the class of 2023.  She will be graduating from college then.  It will all go by in the blink of an eye.

Happy Birthday Mom!

This year for moms birthday we went up to New York. We got a hotel right in the middle of Times Spuare with a nice, spacious room! We walked around in the M&M's store and found a cool M&M personalizer. We also found new pajama's for me, Lillie! It was even more fun with a Broadway play!
Dinner at Becco, an old favorite!

SMECO Math Challenge

Our Lillie participated in the SMECO math challenege.  She had to test in to participate.  These were the best and brightest from the school in math.  For months, once a week after school, she practiced and she had extra homework to do. We were so proud of her.  Today was the actual competition.  Even though she didn't win in the individual or team competition, we were so proud of her.  She is so smart in math!!!

There other students who were from chuch.  Braylen Dean and William Parsons in the middle of the picture are in her primary class.
