Today we ventured off to the school where Mommy used to teach. So, we got all dressed up in an outfit that one of the teachers gave Lillie. The pants were a tiny bit too big, but we looked cute anyway.

Well, with all the new people and the kids at school getting ready for recess and lunch, there was too much commotion to take any pictures. Maybe next time. Here's Lillie attempting to take off her shoes. Dr. Farber said that she would become more able to put on her clothes and take off her shoes. So, we are trying it out today.

"Ok, I got the velcro off, now what!?!?!"


Since being back, Lillie has really missed her Daddy. I try to leave our front door open as much as possible for fresh air, before the cold air comes. Lillie loves to look out for her Daddy

"I hear some noise. Could it be Dadadada?"

So sad!! It was only the mailman.

Unfortunately, Mommy is feeling under the weather, so we are stuck in the house. Here is Lillie watching Elmo.


Notice her outfit today. The shirt, which is 2T is slightly short, while her pants, which are 9 months, fit her little bottom but are a bit short. Will we ever get the right fit!!!?? ha ha Also notice the fashionable socks. This is what Lillie picked out to wear today. Now that the weather is getting a bit colder, Lillie is wearing socks, even in the house. We just have a few to choose from since she'll only wear the socks with rubber grippies on the bottom...in the house. The rubber helps her not to slip all over the place.


Lillie is still trying to figure out how familiar voices are heard on the phone, but no person is seen.

A little music on the phone always helps our little Lillie get moving.


I'm not quite sure what Lillie is doing, but it was very funny to watch. She's standing in front of the dishwasher looking at herself, and arching her tummy forward, while making a groaning mumble that sounded a little like, "uhhrrrmmm". Trust me, it was pretty funny.

Today was another big day to see Dr. Farber. I know she may look a bit disheveled, but she really didn't look that bad. ha ha



Lillie enjoyed the waiting room. She got to play with this toy wood block box thing. Honestly though, like many of her other toys, she enjoyed playing with the chairs the most. Lillie played a little game of musical chairs without the music.



Starting to get a little apprehensive!! But Lillie did great. We had to undress her for the big weigh in and measurement. To our surprise, Lillie only gained one pound since the last visit 2 months ago. She is now a whopping 21 lbs. 3 oz. She measured in at 33 inches - same as the last visit. So, Mommy and Daddy were a little off in thinking that she weighed so much more and was just so much taller after Hawaii. I guess the sun really got to us.


This is Lillie's doctor, Dr. Farber. I know, a little scary, in a Mr. Roger's look alike kind of way. Anyway, we are still looking around for another pediatrician who might be better suited for Lillie and us. Here's Dr. Farber testing out some developmental skills by having Lillie put blocks in a cup and fitting all the blocks inside. He also had Lillie "write" with a crayon, respond to "can you give that to me?", and choose between a ball and a baby doll when asked, "which one is the baby", then "kisses for the baby". Lillie passed with flying colors with everything. Dr. Farber told us that Lillie is growing perfectly well, even though she's a bit slim still. Developmentally she's progressing nicely and is still slightly delayed in her speech. He said that her delayed speech is to be expected, especially since she has only been with us for 4 months, and he didn't have any concerns. He told us some things to look forward to in the next coming months like: WALKING up and down the stairs, feeding herself with more accuracy and using a fork, balancing on one foot, upwards of 20 words, more accuracy at dressing herself, and more puzzles and stacking of blocks.

Dr. Farber also listened to her heart, checked her ears, eyes, and mouth. She appeared to be in good health, although Lillie didn't like the tongue depressor in her mouth too much, as you can see the aftermath in picture #3.




Unfortunately, Lillie is finding that every time we enter a doctor's office, she gets poked. She received 4 more immunization shots today. We need to bring Lillie in at the end of Oct., and Nov. for more shots, then the last of the series end in January. Lillie was such a big girl! She cried for just a little while until she was distracted by some big Winnie the Pooh stickers that the nurse gave her.

All in all, a good doctor's visit. We were excited to hear that she is doing so well.

One more post for the day. We also ran an errand to Home Depot and used this wagon to wheel Lillie around. It's like a kiddie contraption attached to the grocery cart. Anyway, Miss Lillie is so smart she figured out how to get her arm out of the straps. She just kept at it, trying to wiggle her way out of the strap, no matter how tight it was strapped down. At one point her arm was all twisted in there. I'm telling you, never a dull moment with her!!!

Today we also decorated the house for Halloween!! We always decorate the house for the holidays and now with Lillie, we can't wait to show her what living in America is all about. So we decked out the house for Halloween! Here are some pics of our living and dining area. Luckily all of our decorations are up high so Miss Lillie won't touch them. She was intrigued by the lighted pumpkin.

Today we decided to take Lillie to lunch at our favorite Chinese restaurant. See, you don't have to worry too much about us, we have really good dim sum up here, or manapua as they call it in Hawaii.

We went to Garfield Park today to get a little sunshine. The park is a very short drive away and really fun. We decided to hit the swings first.



As you can see, Lillie had a blast!!!

The slides were a whole new experience for Miss Lillie. I don't think she knew quite what to think about the whole thing.

We had a photographer come to the house and take some family pictures. Unfortunately, Lillie was not very cooperative and we have very few good pictures. Here are some of the better ones.

Our little Chinese Princess!

Here is the entire family in Hawaii eating lunch at the Turtle Bay after the temple sealing. We had so much fun. Thank you so much to Aunty Momi and Uncle Terry for arranging and treating all of us. Lillie is so lucky!

Here is Lillie with all her cousins in Hawaii. She still has 12 more to meet in Utah and Washington state. Lillie is so lucky to no have so many cousins who love her and have fun with her.
