All County Honors Orchestra 2021
Our Lillie was the concertmistress of the all county orchestra. We are so proud of her. She has worked so hard at her violin playing. She certainly deserves to be the concertmistress with all her hard work!!!! The orchestra sounded so good she was a real leader.

National Honor Society
We are lucky to have Lillie. She has always been so diligent in school. She is a natural leader, and service oriented. She is always where she is supposed to be and helpful. Tonight she was inducted into the National Honor Society. Only a few from her class were recognized with such an honor and Kim and I were so proud. We sure love her!!

Someone is learning to drive
Today we hit a super big milestone. Lillie got her learners permit and took her out for a drive. Well actually she took us out for a drive. Like anything she does, she made us so proud. She got a perfect score on the written driving exam and she did such a good job at the wheel. No jerking no excitable moments. Just slow cautious driving!! She did a good job.

We love Aunty Bertha
We had such a fun time with aunty Bertha this last month. We wish she can come back and visit soon.
First day June 29, 2021:
Last day July 24, 2021:
She loved all our tall trees!
And she loved the music we played for her:
We will miss Aunty very much. She was so generous too. She always wanted to treat us and pay for us. We are so thankful for that. It was so nice of her to do that. We love our Aunty Bertha!

Aunty Berta Comes for a Visit
Week 3:
This week began with a tour of Arlington National Cemetery. We saw and heard about all the soldiers hurried there. She enjoyed seeing John F. Kennedy’s plot. She was sad at how many people have been killed in wars.
All throughout Aunty’s trip we have been cooking for her our favorite meals. This week was no exception with beef stew and shrimp tempura.
This week we went out for teppanyaki where they cook in front of you in a theatrical way. It was fun and the food was really good.

Aunty Berta Comes for a Visit
Week 2:
It began with a festive July 4th dinner. We didn’t make it out to the National Mall because the traffic and crowds would have made it not very pleasant. But we did okay with our own patriotic music and a festive dinner of hot dogs, baked beans and corn on the cob!
Monday we went back into DC to see the Museum of American History. It was fun to see iconic American memorabilia and be reminded of how great it is to live in this country.
Lillie brought a friend with her it was nice to meet her. Aunty went on a virtual ride with them she was dizzy by the time it ended!
The music display in the museum had a saxophone it reminded Aunty of grandpa and his saxophone playing days!!
And at the end of the day we rode the paddle boats at the tidal basin. It was a lot of fun to be out on the open waters!!Aunty loved the Natural history museum with all the animals!
We ate at a fondue place where you cook everything fondue style at your table. Aunty had never done that before.
We also enjoyed a sunset concert on the Potomac river. She loved eating picnic style and listening to the Air Force jazz band!
And the highlight of the week was bowling. She had not been in a while. But she ended up wining and having the best score of all of us.
