Here she is...our wonderfully sweet Lillie!!!
After gathering the other five couples, we headed off to the Guangdong provincial offices. While riding in a bus, our China contact, Shirley told us what was going to happen. We entered the building, everything was fine, we were asked to take a seat in a conference size room, everything was still fine, Shirley mentioned that the orphanage director wanted to wait a few minutes so we should start filling in some paperwork, still fine. Then people started popping in and out of the doorway with BABIES!!! One of these people had a baby that was walking. I told Keola, I think that is our Lillie. All of sudden, everything wasn't so "fine". The nerves started and the butterflies were being felt in the tummy. Then only after about 2 or 3 minutes, all of sudden, Shirley comes in and says, "the orphanage director is ready, let's put the paperwork away to work on later." The first caregiver enters the room with the baby and the Chinese babies name is called out. One by one, each baby was carried in. The butterflies were really flying now!!! Then, all of a sudden, a caregiver has Lillie walking in on her own!!! There she was, our beautiful little girl!! It was so quick, babies exchanged, money exchanged, and off we went. No time to even shed tears of joy, we were moving along, and before we knew it, we were back on the bus headed to the hotel. WOW!! It all begins now!! Keola and I are parents!!! It is all so amazing!!!
